18 cases of measles in Gauteng

GAUTENG - Gauteng currently has 18 laboratory-confirmed measles cases. Most were recorded in the City of Tshwane. Parents and guardians in the Vaal Triangle and the rest of South Africa are reminded once again that their young children should be vaccinated to prevent them from contracting and spreading measles. The MEC for Health and Wellbeing, Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko, will lead a campaign to ensure that more children are vaccinated. The head of communications for the Department of Health and Welfare, Motalatale Modiba, says the campaign is aimed at children aged 6 months to 15 years. PHOTO: (Supplied)
