225 post-community service doctors could face unemployment next month

VAAL TRIANGLE - The South African Medical Association Trade Union (Samatu) says 225 post-community service doctors could face unemployment next month. According to Samatu secretary-general, Cedric Sihlangu, the National Health Department has failed to absorb medical professionals, despite parts of the health system being understaffed. Meanwhile, some doctors describe the development as a crime against patients. Sihlangu calls for the review of top-heavy structures across provinces at an administrative level.
