28 South African companies to participate in 4 Day Week pilot project.

28 South African companies have registered to participate in the pilot study in which a four-day working week is scrutinized. The deadline for registration was Tuesday. The project was launched by the organization Four Day Week South Africa, and investigates whether a shorter working week can be introduced, without sacrificing productivity. In addition to the 28 local companies, a company from Botswana has also indicated that it wants to participate in the project for six months, starting from March. Employees' productivity levels will be monitored and studied during this time. The director of the organization, Karen Lowe, says the number of companies that will participate in the project compares well with similar projects worldwide.
