900 suspects arrested in Gauteng during the lockdown period

VAAL TRIANGLE - Gauteng police say a total of 900 suspects have been arrested during the lockdown period for gender-based violence and other serious violent crimes. The latest being two suspects who have been on the run for the past five months after being linked to reported cases of murder, rape and assault, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm among others. Spokesperson Mavela Masondo says of the total suspects arrested 265 were arrested in Tshwane, 263 in Ekurhuleni, 241 in Johannesburg, and 134 in Sedibeng and the West Rand collectively.
