A man arrested in Heidelberg for selling drugs.

Members of the Heidelberg Crime Prevention Unit arrested a man for allegedly selling drugs at the Heidelberg taxi rank in Voortrekker Street, last week Thursday.

According to Constable Doris Nkosi, members were acting on a tip-off.

Nkosi says the suspect, suspected of selling narcotics, was identified and approached at around 15:00, Thursday afternoon. A search was conducted and the man was found in possession of four loops of the street drug nyaope, which is a mixture of low-grade heroin, cannabis and anti-retro-viral drugs. The man was arrested and detained at the Heidelberg police station.
