A suspect is wanted for rape in De Deur
DE DEUR - The Vereeniging SAPS says the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit in De Deur is searching for a suspect who raped a woman in the Wilersfarm area. Police spokesperson, Captain Fikile Funda, said in a statement the complainant alleges that on 11 May 2022 she was walking home with her 18-month-old child when she was approached by an unknown male. The suspect asked the woman to be in a relationship with him, and when she refused, he took out his firearm, instructing her to go into the bushes where he forcefully raped her, before robbing her of her cellphone and running away. Funda says the suspect is about 35 years of age, short and slender in stature and speaks fluent Zulu.
