Alarm over escalating proliferation of illicit liquor establishments in townships

VAAL TRIANGLE - The Gauteng government has expressed alarm over the escalating proliferation of illicit liquor establishments within townships. Economic Development MEC, Tasneem Motara, conveyed her concerns to the Liquor Board and alcohol traders in Roodepoort during a gathering. The meeting was aimed at addressing the challenges encountered by the industry. Motara emphasised these illegal outlets have transformed into breeding grounds for criminal activities and violence.
