VANDERBIJLPARK - The lawyer for the suspected mastermind behind the kidnapping of a six-year-old girl in Vanderbijlpark today said that Tharina Human entered a plea agreement with the State, which means she will plead guilty. Human made a brief appearance in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court earlier today, alongside her three co-accused Pieter van Zyl, Bofokeng Molemohi and Laetitia Nel. It is understood Nel also plans to plead guilty and will leave the punishment in the hands of the court. On 2 September last year, the six-year-old was snatched from her mother's vehicle in front of Laerskool Kollegepark where she went to school. She was kept hostage for 19 hours before being abandoned near an informal settlement, where she was found wandering the streets. The abductors demanded a R2 million ransom from the girl's parents but the money was never handed over. Human's lawyer David Mey today said the matter was set for trial this whole week and towards the end of last week, but he entered into a plea and sentencing agreement with the State. May said when they arrived at court, the lawyer on behalf of accused number two indicated that his client is also willing to plead guilty. The case resumes on Thursday.
