ANC Coalition partners called for the immediate removal of the Emfuleni Mayor.

ANC Coalition partners of the Emfuleni Local Municipal council submitted a vote of no confidence against the mayor of Emfuleni, Sipho Radebe, this week. According to the motion of no confidence document, this is due to Radebe’s inability to effectively carry out his duties as the Mayor of Emfuleni Local Municipal council. It is stated the motion for the removal of the Executive Mayor is submitted in terms of the Local Government Municipal Structurs Act, No 117 of 1998 Section 58. The ANC coalition partners demanded Radebe’s immediate removal or else they will leave the coalition with the ANC. The office of the Municipal Manager has received and acknowledged the letter submitted by coalition partners.
