Andrè de Ruyter leaves Eskom with immediate effect.
Eskom has confirmed that CEO André de Ruyter is leaving the power utility with immediate effect following a special board meeting. De Ruyter says evidence suggests that the ANC sees the embattled power utility as a feeding trough. He says he expressed his concern to a senior government minister about attempts, in his view, to water down governance around the R154.64-billion that, by and large through Eskom intervention, they got at COP26. De Ruyter says the response he got from the minister, who he refused to name, was shocking.
