Banks will not be charging ATM penalty fees during the lockdown

VAAL TRIANGLE - The Banking Association of South Africa has confirmed that banks will not be charging ATM penalty fees during the lockdown. In a statement, the association says it will do all in its power to maintain the safety and soundness of the country’s financial system over the coming 21 days. Banks have been categorized under essential services hence they are expected to remain operational during the lockdown to maintain the banking and payment systems.
