Childline introduces new, shorter toll-free number

VAAL TRIANGLE - Childline South Africa has introduced a new shorter and toll-free number 116 for both children and families to call with child-related matters. It works outside of South Africa, enabling it to join forces with other African countries in ensuring the effective delivery of child protection services to all children. Online counseling project manager, Bhavna Lutchman, says this means that if South African children were to find themselves in need of help in another African country, they would be able to get through to a helpline by dialing 116.
