Construction of Katleho Mpumelelo School in Sasolburg progressing well

SASOLBURG - The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure in the Free State says it is pleased with the progress made by the new contractor appointed for the construction of Katleho Mpumelelo School in Sasolburg. Over the last two fiscal years, the department has re-aligned project management processes and capacity to ensure better project delivery. The department prioritized the completion of old projects that had been delayed for various reasons. The department says the construction progress at Katleho Mpumelelo school is accelerating, and the project will be completed in 2023. As a contributor to job creation and skill transfer in the implementation and execution of infrastructure projects, the department has managed to create work opportunities in the area, including those for the local businesses. Katleho Mpumelelo School has ablution blocks, classrooms, a store, a science lab, an admin block, Grade R classes, and a hall. The school facility is also fire safe, as a fire hydrant system was built into the design. There is also a caterer's flat, a tuck shop, and showers included in the school's development.
