COSATU welcomes new minimum wage

VAAL TRIANGLE - COSATU has welcomed the increase in the minimum wage. This follows after the National Minimum Wage Commission proposed an increase of consumer price index, plus 1%. From next year the new minimum wage will be R23,00 per hour, instead of R21,69. COSATU’s Matthew Parks says this is good news for workers and companies that cannot afford this minimum wage can apply for an exemption.
