VAAL TRIANGLE - An Orange Farm couple charged with the murder of a five-year-old boy was reportedly expected appear in the Vereeniging Magistrates Court today. Police spokesperson, Captain Kay Makhubele said in a statement it is alleged that on 14 April at about 15:00, the grandmother of the five-year-old boy, Mzwandile Zitho, reported him missing at Orange Farm SAPS. The following day at about 22:00, the body of the boy was discovered in Ext 4 Orange Farms inside a tavern. Police said the body of the child was found in an upright position naked next to a fridge with a string tied around his neck and a handkerchief tied around his ankles. Makhubele says the arrested couple, aged 29 and 30-years-old respectively, are the owners of the tavern. Makhubele said they are going to investigate how the child ended up in the tavern, as his home is located a few meters away from the tavern. The police opened a case of murder for further investigation.
