CPF, patrollers and SAPS working hard to reduce crime in Vanderbijlpark

VANDERBIJLPARK - CPF Vanderbiljpark Sector 3-patrollers, supported by various stakeholders, clamped down on criminal elements over the weekend. The Vanderbijlpark Crime Prevention Operations focused on crime in the area with 12-hour shifts patrolling areas of concern. CPF Sector 3 said in a statement they managed to confiscate numerous items which include 3 gas pistols, home-made knives, and burglary implements amongst others. After receiving information involving possible illegal firearms, members contacted the SAPS Task Team for tactical support and an arrest was executed and 3 firearms confiscated with different calibers of ammunition. CPF Sector 3 adds the arrests were made for possession of drugs, dealing in drugs, illegal possession of ammunition, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. The Sector Manager applauds the SAPS members and CPF Patrollers for their impact-driven operations and arrests. A Community Patroller-initiative in SE 7, driven by the community, was officially launched on Thursday last week. This initiative also enjoyed success with an arrest for dealing in drugs.
