DA commends Midvaal Mayor Bongani Baloyi for best run municipality in Gauteng

MIDVAAL - The Democratic Alliance (DA) Gauteng Provincial Leader John Moodey has commended the Midvaal Local Municipality Mayor Bongani Baloyi for the best run municipality in the Gauteng Province. This follows the recent Ratings Afrika’s annual Municipal Financial Sustainability Index (MFSI. The MFSI evaluates six components of municipalities, including the operating performance, liquidity management, debt governance, budget practices, affordability and infrastructure development of a municipality, and scores these out of 100. Moodey says Midvaal with a score of 66 has demonstrated consistency during the past five years with good budget practices, strict financial control and good revenue collection, despite the current economic conditions.
