DA says Metsimaholo service delivery is a struggle even for teams on the ground

SASOLBURG - The DA in Metsimaholo criticizes the ANC and EFF-run municipality in Sasolburg for poor service delivery, attributing it to a lack of resources and political will. DA Cllr Jacques Barnard highlights shortages of vehicles and tools in the Water and Waste Department, leaving residents without water for days. Barnard said maintenance teams are ill-equipped, leading to them having to take the blame for the service failures. The Electrical Department faces similar issues, lacking materials for basic tasks, while electricians require training to replace stolen cables. However, he said instead of investing in training, the municipality spends thousands on external service providers. Additionally, the suspension of the electrical engineer leaves projects without oversight. The DA warns of an impending financial deficit and vows to hold the municipal leadership accountable.
