DA says the SAPS failed to recruit a single police trainee between 2020 and 2021

VAAL TRIANGLE - The DA is calling on Police minister Bheki Cele to urgently provide an action plan for the recruitment of police trainees after a damning report released by the SAPS. The South African Police Service recently revealed that between 2020 and 2021, no new police trainees were recruited and that the police lost 11,178 members between 2020 and last year. The DA’s Okkie Terblanche says this is a horrifying revelation of just how far behind the police have fallen in their attempts to tackle crime.
