DA urges Vaal residents to sign petition over unfinished Vereeniging Taxi Rank

VEREENIGING - The Democratic Alliance says the unfinished Vereeniging Taxi Rank has left thousands of commuters in the Vaal stranded. According to the party, this multimillion rand taxi rank was initially scheduled to be complete in 2015. In December 2019, the Provincial Government announced that it would demolish the unfinished rank and replace it with a larger intermodal rank incorporating retail space. But the DA says today, seven years since construction started, there has been no development. The DA says this incomplete rank stands testament to the incompetence of the ANC-led Gauteng provincial government. The party urged Vaal residents to sign its petition to demand that the Gauteng Provincial Government urgently complete this taxi rank.
