DA wants to ensure adequate running water in Emfuleni

VAAL TRIANGLE - The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Gauteng has called on the Gauteng MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) and Human Settlements, Lebogang Maile, to ensure that there is an adequate running water supply in Emfuleni Local Municipality. The party says that Rand Water is reducing water pressure in Emfuleni by 20 percent due to the non-payment for the services rendered. Emfuleni owes Rand Water R1.1 billion and is currently in arrears of R949 million. The cash-strapped Emfuleni has been battling to pay its debts owed to Rand Water and Eskom as well as to pay its service providers for the services rendered.
