VAALPARK - The Bongani Mabaso EcoPark in Vaalpark, Vaal Triangle, had to close over the weekend due to extensive vandalism on the premises. The park, which is managed by Sasol, said in a statement on Sunday morning that the bathrooms were vandalized and are subsequently out of order. The park said it will send out updates as the situation develops. This comes after the park last month issued a statement saying that it is unfortunately dealing with vandalism, a total disregard for reserve rules and filthy amenities on a regular basis. EcoPark also had to remove litter, beer - and other alcoholic bottles from the veld after weekends. Therefore, the park permanently banned alcohol from the reserve in an effort to ensure that the reserve is looked after by visitors. EcoPark urged visitors to report incidents to Sasol Security at 016 960 5179 or David Dube at 082 525 3885.
