Emfuleni CFO suspended

VAAL TRIANGLE - The Emfuleni Local Municipality in a statement said the Council suspended the Chief Financial Officer, Andile Dyakala. This follows a report from Municipal Manager, Lucky Leseane, on serious allegations of misconduct, financial misconduct, irregular and wasteful expenditure that necessitated the municipality to affect a precautionary suspension. According to the municipality the decision was taken to allow for a fair investigation into the matter. Dyakala has responded to his suspension saying he was suspended for exposing corruption done by the Municipal Manager who allegedly signed a bribe of R57 million. The Executive Mayor, Sipho Radebe, has subsequently written a letter to the Leseane requesting him to respond to allegations raised against him in a letter to the Auditor General by the CFO.
