Emfuleni extends its incentive scheme period for account arrears until December
VAAL TRIANGLE - The Emfuleni Local Municipality has extended the cut-off date for the ELM Incentive Scheme from the end of August until the end of this year. The municipality announced earlier this year that it will be offering 50% off residential account holders’ bills and 30% off business account holders’ bills, both with arrears of more than 90 days. Emfuleni said the ELM Incentives Scheme is a consumer relief program aimed at writing-off outstanding debt to help pay a percentage of the arrears for residential customers and businesses. However, the scheme does not include traffic fines. Residents have until the end of December to apply for the incentive to ensure that they keep their accounts to date. Residents are encouraged to visit the Vereeniging Rates and Taxes Office or Vanderbijlpark Customer Care Office today to apply.
