Emfuleni Local Municipality issues an update on various power outages

VEREENIGING & VANDERBIJLPARK - The Emfuleni Local Municipality has issued an update regarding various power outages in the Vaal Triangle. The Suncrush Substation in Vanderbijlpark caught fire on Wednesday, resulting in power outages in CE 1, as well as parts of CE 3, 4 and 5. According to ELM, technicians commenced with repair work yesterday. Meanwhile various parts of SE 1, SE 2, SW 1 and SW 2 in Vanderbijlpark and parts of Peacehaven, Vereeniging Extention 2, Ironside and Rus-Ter-Vaal in Vereeniging were left without electricity, due to multiple cable faults. The municipality appealed for patience from residents, as their technicians worked to restore the power supply to all affected areas.
