Emfuleni Local Municipality pays service providers for work employees claim to do
VAAL TRIANGLE - The DA in Gauteng says the Emfuleni Local Municipality outsourced multiple companies over the past five years to clean up illegal dumping sites, while municipal workers claimed overtime for the same duties. The clean-up follows as residents continue to dump their rubbish at illegal dumping sites, due to the Municipality’s lack of regular refuse removal. In a statement, the DA says the Emfuleni Local Municipality has spent more than R 39-million on service providers over the past five years to remove the waste. The DA's Kingsol Chabalala says the Municipality must be investigated for corruption in this regard and their party will not just stand and watch as politicians put money in their pockets and continue to not provide basic service delivery to residents.
