VAAL TRIANGLE - The Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development this week handed over a service delivery fleet to Emfuleni Local Municipality. The vehicles were procured by the Gauteng Provincial Government as part of the continued intervention in ELM, to improve the delivery of basic services. In the R53million service delivery support initiative, the municipality received nine waste compactor trucks and three hook trucks in the first delivery, and more vehicles are expected in the next coming weeks. Executive Mayor Councillor Gift Moerane said the fleet will fast-track the collection of household waste, as he indicated to residents during the recent IDP and Budget Public Participation Meetings. He pleaded with municipal workers to look after the vehicles.
