Emfuleni says it is attending to power and water supply interruptions

VAAL TRIANGLE - The Emfuleni Local Municipality says it is attending to power supply outages currently affecting Sonland Park, Falcon Ridge, Houtkop Plots, Helenasrus, Van der Merweskroon and surrounding areas today. ELM said in a notice that the power outage is due to a cable fault that affected water pumping processes at the Rand Water Amanzimtoti Plant. Emfuleni says technicians have located the cable fault under waterlogged soil. While procurement processes to secure a replacement cable are ongoing, excavation work to expose the cable is in progress. ETR will be communicated soon after the team identifies the exact length of the submerged cable. Emfuleni further said that on account of the above mentioned power outage, consumers in Evaton, Beverly Hills, Lakeside Sebokeng, Roshnee, Rust-Ter-Vaal, Debonair Park, Steelpark, Sonland Park and Falcon Ridge will be experiencing water outages. The municipality says no estimated time to restore power or water supply can be given and it has dispatched mobile tankers to some of the affected areas earlier today.
