VAAL TRIANGLE - The Emfuleni Local Municipality has issued a warning against a job scam doing the rounds due to a leaker circular document. ELM said in the notice that scammers are making use of a leaked Circular 2/2024 Internal and External document to deceive unsuspecting job seekers into paying for non-existent jobs. The municipality has not advertised the circular under discussion yet and when it does, the vacancies will be advertised through Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) website and, recognized national and local print media platforms. ELM would like to put it on record once more that municipal jobs are not for sale. The municipality would not demand or request money for any recruitment purposes including the administration and processing of forms. The Municipality follows a fair and transparent recruitment process. Municipal officials and anyone who requests money for jobs must be reported to the nearest police station, a case must be opened and the particulars of such a person must be given to the police. Job seekers are further requested to report such incidents to the Human Resources Department manager located at the ELM Trust Bank Building, corner Eric Louw St. and President Kruger St., Vanderbijlpark.
