Equal Education welcomes the move to address schools infrastructure backlogs.

VAAL TRIANGLE - Learner rights advocacy group Equal Education welcomes the extension of the schools’ infrastructure backlogs grant by the National Treasury. The grant, which provides funds to the Department of Basic Education to address school infrastructure problems, was set to end at the end of last month, but will now be extended for three more financial years. The group’s spokesperson, Jay-Dee Cyster, calls on government to urgently address classroom shortages.
