Eskom has been given the go-ahead to hike tariffs by nearly 16%

VAAL TRIANGLE - Eskom says it has noted the order made by the North Gauteng High Court yesterday on the tariff adjustment for the 2021/22 financial year. The power utility said in a statement last night that this will result in an average price increase of approximately 15% in the electricity tariff for standard customers starting April 1. Eskom’s General Manager for Regulation, Hasha Tlhotlhalemaje, says this court decision allows the power utility to recover efficiently incurred costs for the production of electricity.
