Eskom warns of possible Loadshedding escalation to Stage 06
VAAL TRIANGLE - Eskom CEO André de Ruyter says residents in the Vaal Triangle and other South Africans should brace themselves for a possible escalation of Loadshedding to Stage 06 from 17h00. Briefing the media on Eskom’s system, De Ruyter said the unavailability of coal, as well as the current Eskom employee strike action, has affected service delivery in many of the power stations. De Ruyter says the public will be informed of any possible changes. Meanwhile, calculations show South Africa has had up to 900-hours of continuous Loadshedding. According to energy expert, Clyde Mallinson the hours experienced amount to nearly 40 days in total.
