Evaton police recover stolen livestock

EVATON - Police in Evaton recovered presumed stolen livestock, an unlicensed firearm and housebreaking implements last week, following a stock theft incident. According to the Vaal Journal, police reportedly received a stock theft complaint and immediately activated K9 sniffer dogs to assist in tracking down the stolen livestock. The K9 dogs led the SAPS members to a shack in Evaton, where 22 sheep and 16 goats were found in the garage. The Vaal Journal reports the police also recovered the house-breaking implements and a 9mm pistol, of which the serial number had been filed off. The Vaal Journal states that further investigations into the matter are still underway.
