Free State police arrest alleged ATM bombers in Oranjeville
VAAL TRIANGLE - Free State police have arrested three suspected bomb planters in Oranjeville, Vaal Triangle, after they allegedly blew up an ATM in the Metsimaholo neighborhood and stole an unknown amount of cash. A fourth suspect was reportedly still at large. The alleged ATM bombing took place in the early hours of Friday 13 May around 02:03. A police spokesperson says they responded to information and came across a suspicious vehicle driving at high speed on the R716 towards Deneysville. The policemen chased them and arrested three of the four occupants when they jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot. The trio had blue ink stains on their clothes and hands and are aged between 34 and 23. According to police, the bomb planters used commercial explosives in the incident. The suspects appeared in the Sasolburg Magistrate's Court on May 16.
