Gauteng councillors no longer involved with food parcels

VAAL TRIANGLE - Gauteng’s acting MEC for Social Development, Panyaza Lesufi, says ward councilors will no longer take part in the distribution of food parcels in the province. This follows many reports of councilors distributing food parcels to friends and family instead of to the province’s most needy residents. Lesufi says a system has been put in place to ensure communities receive the support and relief that the department has promised.
