VAAL TRIANGLE - Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport, Jacob Mamabolo, today launched a safety programme along the Golden Highway. This as Transport Month comes to an end. The city of Johannesburg’s Virgil James says a host of safety interventions would take place as part of the launch, from grass cutting to improving visibility, installing guard rails, closing off illegal access, and road and street light repairs. He says the Golden Highway was designed for high mobility movement and less accessibility. James said it is the beginning of road safety meant to educate the public about Jaywalking and road infrastructure protection.
