Gauteng residents urged to be waterwise as Vaal Dam levels drop
VAAL TRIANGLE - The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) has called on the residents of Gauteng to start using water sparingly. The DWS says the Vaal Dam water levels are continuously dropping due to the dry winter season. The Vaal Dam is now 43,4% full, 1,7% less than last week. The Department’s spokesperson, Hosia Sithole, says while the Department urges residents to practice good hygiene to beat the spread of COVID-19, it is also within the residents’ best interest to save water until the rainy season.
