Government launch a social behavioral program for children.
VAAL TRIANGLE - The Social Development Department has launched the ChommY programme, targeting children aged 10 to 14. The initiative seeks to promote responsible behaviour, reduce risky sexual conduct, bullying and substance abuse. ChommY is an extension of the “You Only Live Once” programme, officially launched at the Vosloorus Civic Centre to raise awareness about the perils of risky sexual behaviour. With over 45,000 babies born to teenage mothers in 2021, the program seeks to empower children to make informed decisions through parental and community support.
