Health teams test Vanderbijlpark residents for Covid 19

VANDERBILPARK - Health teams set up camp in Vanderbijlpark and Bophelong yesterday in a drive to test as many people for Covid-19 as possible. The Emfuleni Local Municipality said in a statement last night that it, in partnership with Sedibeng District Health Services and non-governmental organizations, are rolling out Covid-19 testing sites in the municipality.Residents are advised to get tested if they have symptoms such as fever, cough and shortness of breath or difficultybreathing. Effective from yesterday, Emfuleni said testing sites will operate from 09h00 until 15h00 pm. In the Vanderbijlpark area, testing sites included the Johan Heyns Community Health Center, Bophelong EXT. 9 (Supermarket), Bophelong EXT. 16 (Community Hall), and C.W. 5 (Spar parking, Stephenson Street). The municipality said Bophelong testing sites and Johan Heyns CHC will continue testing members of the public throughout the Covid-19 outbreak. It said work to establish more testing sites across the municipality is currently underway. Residents who suspect that they have been infected with the virus are requested to bring a copy of their ID and proof of residence. This will assist healthcare givers with the follow-up process when necessary.
