Heidelberg farmer pleading for help from government after being evicted from farm

HEIDELBERG - Heidelberg farmer, Johannes Tsotetsi, is pleading with the Gauteng Department of Rural Development and Land Reform for assistance after he and his livestock were evicted from a local farm. The 66-year was awarded the farm in 2018 but was evicted with no explanation last week. He was among a group of emerging farmers who staged a picket outside the department’s office in Pretoria. The group has labeled the eviction as pure discrimination and a ploy to deny them opportunities to thrive as black farmers.
