ORANGE FARM - Johannesburg Water is transitioning from traditional open meters to prepaid smart meters, starting from Sunday. The switch will start in Orange Farm in the Vaal Triangle, Cosmo City, Orlando East, and West, and Diepkloof, allowing customers to purchase water as needed. The prepaid meters project will extend to other regions following the initial rollout. Spokesperson Nombuso Shabalala says eligible residents can register for the Expanded Social Package for added benefits. Shabalala urged customers to cooperate in the meter pairing process.
