SASOLBURG - Metsimaholo Local Municipality Mayor Lindiwe Tshongwe is once again facing a motion of no confidence after being accused of failing to fix the municipality's finances. SowetanLive reports that Metsimaholo has in the past two years come under sharp focus after an independent forensic report exposed looting and R250million worth of irregular appointments of service providers. Four senior officials were implicated, including municipal manager Stephen Molala, who has since been reinstated to his position after a long court battle. According to SowetanLive, DA councilor, Thabiso Mofokeng, said Tshongwe is coming under fire because they believe she didn't successfully deal with the rampant corruption allegations and now the municipality is struggling. The motion of no-confidence sitting is set to take place tomorrow.
