Missing Orange Farm boy's body retrieved

VAAL TRIANGLE - The body of the six-year-old boy from Orange Farm who fell into a manhole while playing with friends on Sunday has been found. It took three days for City of Johannesburg and Emfuleni municipal workers to find the missing boy. Emfuleni's mayor, Gift Moerane, said they were relieved that the 72-hour operation had yielded results, but are saddened that a life has been lost. City of Johannesburg member of the mayoral committee for community development, Margaret Arnolds, said there was a problem of theft of manhole lids in the municipality. Arnolds says service delivery needs to be ramped up and manholes need to be covered speedily.
