VAAL TRIANGLE - Police have warned motorists from the Vaal Triangle traveling on the N1 between Polokwane and Pretoria to be vigilant when traveling at night, as thugs are allegedly placing sharp objects on the road. The objects cause harm to tyres, forcing motorists to stop, thus making them easy targets for attack and robbery. Provincial Police Communications Head, Motlafela Mojapelo, says all stations along the N1 have been informed to monitor and patrol the highway regularly, as well as check on motorists who might be having problems. The matter is being investigated and police are working around the clock to arrest perpetrators. He also advised motorists to keep on driving, if possible, until they reached a safe and well-lit area to change a tyre.
