Murderer of General Smuts student sentenced.

VEREENIGING - The Palm Ridge magistrate's court sentenced an 18-year-old man to imprisonment for killing a General Smuts Hight learner in September 2022. 90.6 FM news reported of a grade 11 pupil at General Smuts High School in Vereeniging, who died in hospital after being stabbed by a pupil from Thuto -Tiro Secondary School, on the 20th of September last year. Gauteng SAPS spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Sello said at the time it was alleged that the pupil was stabbed while he was walking from school to the taxi rank after school hours. She said the victim was rushed to a local hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. The 18-year-old was sentenced to 8 years imprisonment.
