New COVID-19 cases in SA the lowest since start of second wave

VAAL TRIANGLE - The Ministry of Health says the number of new COVID-19 infections reported in the last 24 hours is the lowest since the second wave of infections hit South Africa. Only 4,551 infections were reported in the latest daily reporting cycle after the daily infection rate was more than 18,000 earlier this month. The cumulative number of confirmed cases now stands at over 1.4-million. Another 243 people have since died of COVID-19-related causes, most of them in the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape. This brings the country’s total Covid-19 death toll to 41,117.
