Phase 1 of the Vereeniging Intermodal Facility is officially opened today.

VEREENIGING - Gauteng MEC for Transport and Logistics, Kedibone Diale-Tlabela, will officially open the completed Phase 1 Vereeniging Intermodal Facility in the Sedibeng District Municipality, today at 12:00. Phase 1 of the project, which commenced on 08 December 2022, consisted of refurbishing the existing taxi rank to include new hawker stalls, loading shelters and ablution facilities. The refurbishment also included undertaking electrical works, revamping surface drainage systems and access ways. The completion of Phase 1 of the facility forms part of the Department’s commitment to fast-track delivery of critical transport infrastructure projects. The Gauteng government says it also serves in restoring and growing the economy, providing access to economic and much-needed job opportunities.
