Police must give verbal warning to wear a face mask before making an arrest

VAAL TRIANGLE - Lawyers for Human Rights says police must first give a verbal warning to wear a face mask before making any arrest. This comes after President Cyril Ramaphosa introduced a mask mandate in which he calls for anyone in a public space to wear their mask, and that failure to do so will lead to jail time, a fine, or both. LHR says law enforcers can only arrest a person if they refuse to comply with a verbal instruction given by an officer to wear a face mask.
