VAAL TRIANGLE - Rand Water has confirmed to the 90.6 FM News Team that a shutdown planned for the 15th of November has been postponed indefinitely. The organisation’s Pride Mguli said in reply to an enquiry from the News Team that the work on Rand Water’s B11 raw water pipeline has been postponed until further notice. According to the initial Rand Water statement published on 20 October, a reduction of load on Rand Water’s B11 raw water pipeline for 54 hours would affect four of Rand Water’s systems, i.e. Palmiet, Eikenhof, Zwartkoppies and Vereeniging/ Vanderbijlpark/ Sasolburg (VVS). The water body says the purpose of the shutdown is to install isolating in-line valve rigs of the B11 pipeline to achieve total interconnection with the newly constructed B19 pipeline. Mguli on Tuesday confirmed to the 90.6 FM News Team that this work has been postponed, assuring that she will let us know if and when it will be conducted.
