SARB unveils new looks for local currency.

VAAL TRIANGLE - The South African Reserve Bank has upgraded the country’s banknotes and coins, with enhanced security features and new designs celebrating the country’s heritage. While there will be some noticeable differences to the upgraded currency, which will start being circulated this week, former president Nelson Mandela and Africa’s Big Five will still adorn the notes. The Reserve Bank Governor, Lesetja Kganyago, says they have also introduced new animal depictions on some of its coins, including the Cape honey bee replacing the aloe on 10-cent pieces.
